Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NutriWealth (“NutriWealth”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the NutriWealth mobile application (the “App”) and our website at nutriwealth.app (the “Site”).

NutriWealth is a business based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

We’ve written this in plain English on purpose, because a privacy policy is only useful if you can actually understand it.

1. The short version

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • Your nutrition data — what you log, your goals, your history — is stored on your own device, not on our servers.
  • When you scan a barcode or photograph food, that information is sent to our processing service so we can return a result. We do not keep your food photos after the analysis is returned.
  • Some features use artificial intelligence to analyse food. We explain this in Section 6.
  • We do not sell your personal information. We use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.
  • Payments are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play, and our subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.
  • The rights described in this policy are offered to all our users, wherever you live.

2. Who we are

NutriWealth is a business based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We are responsible for the personal information handled as described in this policy. You can reach us through the contact form at nutriwealth.app/support.

3. Our approach to your privacy

NutriWealth is built to keep your data in your hands. There are no user accounts and no central database of your personal information. The information you enter and build up over time lives on your device, under your control. This means we hold very little about you — and that’s the point.

4. Information we handle

4.1 Information stored on your device

When you set up and use the App, you may enter details such as your height, weight, age, sex, activity level, dietary goals, and the foods you log. This information is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit it to, or store it on, a central account or database. If you delete the App, this information is removed with it.

4.2 Information sent for food analysis

The App’s core features send limited information to our backend so we can return a result: the barcode number when you scan a product; the image when you photograph a product, label or meal; and short text such as a food name you type. This information is used only to generate the result you asked for. We do not retain your food photos on our servers after the analysis is returned.

4.3 Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, and the App does not collect, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or social media identity in order to function. We do not build advertising profiles about you.

4.4 Website, contact and launch-list information

Our Site is informational. If you join our launch list or send an enquiry through our contact form, you provide the information you type (such as your email and message). We use it only to respond to you or to notify you about the launch, and you can opt out at any time. The Site runs no advertising trackers.

5. How we use your information

We use the limited information described above to: look up products and return nutrition information, health scores and ingredient analysis; calculate your calorie and macronutrient targets on your device; operate, maintain and improve the App and Site; respond to enquiries and, if you’ve opted in, send you launch or product updates; and comply with our legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

6. How we use artificial intelligence

Some features of NutriWealth rely on artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse food. When you submit a food photo or text for analysis, that information is sent to Anthropic, PBC (provider of the Claude AI model), which processes it to generate your result. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this information is not used to train their AI models. AI analysis is powerful but imperfect; results are general estimates and can be incomplete or wrong. Please read our Health Disclaimer and Terms of Service for the limits of this information.

7. Who we share information with (our service providers)

To deliver food analysis, limited information is processed by the following third parties, acting on our behalf or as data sources:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — provides the infrastructure that runs our backend, and may temporarily cache product-level results to make repeat lookups faster. This cache is keyed to products, not to you.
  • Anthropic, PBC (USA) — provides the AI model that analyses food photos and text, as described in Section 6.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) — manages your app subscription and free trial. When you subscribe, it processes a randomly generated anonymous app-user ID, your device and app information (device model, OS version, app version, region), your IP address, and your purchase and subscription history, in order to deliver and validate your subscription. It does not receive your name, email, or payment card details, and we do not use it to track you across other apps.
  • Open Food Facts (France) — an open community nutrition database we query, used under the Open Database License (ODbL).
  • USDA FoodData Central (USA) — a public database operated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, used as a nutrition data source.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — handle all purchases, subscriptions, billing and refunds. We never see or store your payment card details.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

8. A note on health-related information

Some of the information you enter (such as body metrics or dietary goals) and the results NutriWealth produces could be considered health-related and sensitive. We treat it accordingly. The strongest protection is structural: this information lives on your device, not in a central database we hold. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

9. Where your information is processed

NutriWealth is based in Australia. Some service providers (including Cloudflare and Anthropic) process information on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the App, you acknowledge that information sent for analysis may be processed overseas by these providers under their own security and privacy commitments.

10. How long we keep information

  • On-device data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Food photos sent for analysis are not retained on our servers after your result is returned.
  • Product-level results may be cached for a limited period to improve performance, keyed to the product, not to you.
  • Launch-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe; if you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of that choice so we don’t contact you again.
  • Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information, including reputable infrastructure providers and encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your nutrition data lives on your device, keeping your device secure (passcode, up-to-date software) is an important part of protecting it.

12. Children

NutriWealth is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

13. Cookies and tracking

Our Site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking or analytics. If we ever introduce basic, privacy-respecting website analytics, we will use a cookieless option that does not collect personal information, and we will update this policy.

14. Your privacy rights

Because we generally don’t hold your personal information on a central server, much of your data is already in your hands — you can view, edit or delete it directly in the App, and uninstalling the App removes it. For any information we do hold (such as an enquiry or launch-list signup), and wherever you live, you may ask us to access it, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we extend these rights to all our users regardless of location. To exercise any of them, contact us via the form at nutriwealth.app/support. If you’re in Australia and aren’t satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the App or Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
